She hails from a Kodava family, with her father, Madan Mandanna, owning a coffee estate and a function hall, and her mother, Suman Mandanna, being a homemaker. Rashmika has a younger sister named Shiman, whom she helped raise, feeling a maternal connection to her. During her childhood, her family faced financial challenges, struggling to find a home and pay rent, which impacted her relationship with money.
She completed her early education at Coorg Public School, a boarding school in Gonikoppal. During this phase, she faced communication challenges, making it difficult to connect with her peers. Rashmika credits her mother as a stabilizing influence in her life, referring to her as “my biggest strength.” She pursued higher education at the M.S. Entry into Modeling and Acting
In 2014, Rashmika participated in and won The Times of India Clean & Clear Fresh Face contest, which recognizes individuals with significant potential for future success. The award was presented to her by actor Akshay Kumar, and she was subsequently made a brand ambassador for Clean & Clear.
